Thanks giving, a family portrait story.

S contacted me to take some ‘long overdue’ family portraits with J and V. Fortunately the week long rains cleared and we were blessed with a perfect day for a walk in the neighbourhood. It was a pleasure meeting and working with you guys!!

I’d also like to say V totally rocked the session. Very minimal instructions were provided to encourage a natural portrait (aside from the most basic ‘x marks the spot’ with a few subtle suggestions sprinkled here and there) and she threw down the following poses. Are you serious? How awesome is that! Not to downplay S and J. You guys did good too, but V definitely raised the bar for your future family portrait shoots!

And a special thanks to Sharon who assisted with lighting on the shoot!

Two integral elements were important to the following shot: Atmospheric autumn back light streaming through the leaves and the laughter that accompanies a courageous neighbor taking an October swim.

I love this group shot, it reminds me of a sitcom promo, or a dramatic series!!

This is my pick to make this year’s Christmas card!
